Xiaomi India announced today that it has sold more than 9.2 million smart phones in India in Q3 of 2017 for the very first time. It shipped around 100,000 smart phones each quarter of 2014, crossing the one million mark in the 3rd quarter of 2015, 3 million in 3rd quarter of 2016, and now it crossed the 9 million smart phones mark for the first time in the 3rd quarter of 2017. This was stated by Manu Jain, the Group Vice President and the Managing Director of the brand of the country.
As per the latest counter point data, Xiaomi posted a growth of 266% in the 3rd quarter of 2015 as compared to the 3rd quarter of 2016 previous year and it has a market share of 22% in the country. The counter point data also stated that Xiaomi Redmi Note- 4, Redmi 4A and Redmi 4 are the best-selling smart phones in the country.
A report which has been issued from another firm, Canalys stated that Xiaomi is getting closer and is likely to beat the smartphones giant Samsung in the country in the very next quarter.
Xiaomi shipped more than 70 million smart phones globally for the 1st 10 months this year, surpassing the set target of 2017. As per IDC, Xiaomi has reached the 5th spot in the rankings of global smartphone for the 3rd quarter of 2017. In total the company has shipped 27.6 million smart phones which are up to 102.6% from same quarter previous year.
So, in short the smartphone giant Xiaomi is slowly but steadily reaching the top position in the smart phones industry. It will soon surpass its smart phones giants & rivals.
