Team India has announced a 12-member squad for the first Test against Australia starting in Adelaide from Thursday. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the names of 12 members through social media on Wednesday morning. India and Australia will play the first Test of the four-match series from Thursday.
Virat Kohli’s team would like to handle the field with the intention of creating history in Australia. The Indian team has never been successful in winning the Test series on Australian soil and this time it has a golden chance because two prominent players of the Kangaroo team Steve Smith and David Warner are facing a one-year ban due to the ball-tampering controversy.
However, joining Rohit Sharma in the 12 names that India has announced for the first Test, is an auspicious sign for Cricket fans. However, both Hanuma Vihari and Rohit Sharma are named in the 12 players, this shows that Team India will take the field with a strong batting order.
Team India has expressed confidence in Murali Vijay and KL Rahul for the opening. Prithvi Shaw is out of the first test because of injury. Cheteshwar Pujara will play the responsibility of third-order while the fourth is captain Virat Kohli. After this, the middle-order will be the big responsibility of the vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane.
It would be interesting to see if one of Rohit Sharma and Hanuma Vihari will get the chance or both batsmen will be part of the final eleven. Rishabh Pant will play the batting along with wicketkeeper.
However, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Umesh Yadav have not been able to get the place in this team.
The team is as follows:
Virat Kohli, Murali Vijay, KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Hanuma Vihari, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, and Jaspreet Bumrah.
