West Indies captain Jason Holder has praised his batsmen despite his eight-wicket loss against India on Sunday. However, he also said that you do not know what is safe score ahead of India.
Holder said that I am happy with the efforts of the batsmen. Hetmyer made extraordinary batting. But we need to perform better with the ball. West Indies scored 106 runs for the loss of Shimron Hetmyer and useful contributions of Kemar Roach and Devendra Bishoo helped them to score 322 runs on eight wickets. Despite this, the team had to suffer.
India, with the record partnership of 246 runs for the second wicket between captain Virat Kohli (140) and Rohit Sharma (152 not out), defeated the West Indies by eight wickets and got a 1-0 lead in the five-match ODI series.
On the batting of India, Holder said that the stormy innings of Rohit and Kohli put him away from the match. He said that credit should be given to Kohli and Rohit who removed the match from us. Hopefully, we will do well in the second match.
The second match of the current one-day series will be played in Visakhapatnam on October 24. It will also be the 950th ODI match of the Indian team.
