The name of the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to add another achievement soon. Actually, given the PM’s contribution to the development of India and the global economy, he will be awarded the Seoul Peace Prize. It was announced under the chairmanship of Von E-Haoke, head of the Seoal Peace Prize Cultural Foundation. The Foundation has praised ‘Modinomics‘ for reducing social and economic inequality between the rich and the poor.
Cho Chung-Hu, president of the selection committee, said that the 12-member committee selected PM Modi after a thorough discussion after more than 100 candidates in the world. These candidates included present and former president, politicians, businessmen, religious leaders, scholars, journalists, artists, athletes, international organizations etc. The committee has considered Modi as the ‘Perfect Candidate’. He will be the 14th winner to receive the Seoul Peace Prize.
In addition to the award, Modi will be given a gift of two hundred thousand dollars. The committee has appreciated Prime Minister Modi’s efforts to keep the government “clean” through anti-corruption campaigns and demonetisation. Apart from this, the committee has also praised PM for his contribution towards regional and global peace through the active foreign policy with countries around the world under ‘Modi’s theory’ and ‘Act East Policy’.
PM Modi got ‘Champions of the Earth‘
Earlier, last month Prime Minister Narendra Modi was given the United Nations’s highest environmental honour. UN jointly awarded the ‘Champions of the Earth’ award to Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron. Apart from them, five other individuals and organizations were honoured with this award.
